Washington DC

Commemorate International Olympic Day by participating in the Olympic Run on June 19, 2024, at 6:00 pm! Runners of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. It does not matter if you are the next Czech marathon Olympian Emil Zátopek or if you rarely run as the Olympic Run is for everyone!
In Czechia, the Olympic Run is the largest annual running event with thousands of participants running in many locations across the country. Join in the fun in the United States, thanks to the Czech Olympic Committee, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, DC, and American Sokol Washington.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic Miloslav Stašek will start the event. Each participant will receive a medal, t-shirt, and additional gifts provided by the Czech Olympic Committee and the Czech Embassy. Enjoy the nature and beauty of Meadowbrook Local Park. Don´t miss it!

Venue: Meadowbrook Local Park, 7901 Meadowbrook Ln, Chevy Chase, MD 20815

Meadowbrook Park is adjacent to Rock Creek Park (founded 1890) that offers visitors the opportunity to escape the bustle of the city and find a peaceful refuge, recreation, fresh air, majestic trees, wild animals, and thousands of years of human history.  You can start your long run on trail or bike ride there, wave to the Czech Embassy,  pass National ZOO,  Kennedy Center and you will be at the Lincoln Memorial in the city Center.

  • The start of children under the age of 15 on the adult route is allowed.
  • The participation of athletes in a wheelchair (handbike) is possible.
  • Toilets will be available.
  • Parking is possible by the road by the pergola in Meadowbrook Local Park, where the start and all facilities will be
  • There will be a program for children.
  • The Czech Ambassador to the USA Miloslav Stašek will start the race.
